COVID-19 Response at Tom&Sawyer

Dear Loyal Companions,

At Tom&Sawyer, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our team, our customers and their beloved pets at all times. For weeks now we have monitored the situation and considered additional measures that we can take to mitigate risks that the novel Coronavirus may present within our business.

At this time, we wanted to share many of the precautionary measures we have discussed with our team and implemented to ensure we mitigate any potential risks to our products, employees, and customers. Many of these procedures are regular operational health and safety measures of Tom&Sawyer.

While it has not been reported that there is a risk of COVID-19 being transmitted by food or food packaging, we are ensuring extreme diligence in all areas of both food production as well as retail areas at Tom&Sawyer.

  • In the retail area, we are sanitizing all contact surfaces (door handles, retail counters, taps, etc.) regularly throughout the day
  • The entire culinary team, overseen at all times by trained chefs, will continue to practice strict food production hygiene and safety measures, which includes thorough sanitization procedures performed multiple times throughout the day
  • Our team will not be attending external business related events for at least the next 30 days to reduce exposure in large gatherings and be prudent in social situations outside of work
  • We have adopted a protocol of addressing and monitoring with all team members any signs of illness which develop while at work and procedures for persons to refrain from attending our premises who exhibit identified COVID-19 symptoms

Industrial grade bacterial sanitizers have always been used regularly inside our premises as part of our HACCP and health & safety procedures and there is antibacterial cleanser at multiple hand sinks on site (including a hands-free, knee activated wash station).

We also want you to know that we are currently meeting demands to ensure our inventory is stocked and we are communicating regularly with our ingredient suppliers. We will do our best to make sure you can keep receiving your normal order levels of Tom&Sawyer meals so that your pets, especially those with health concerns, continue to have access to their healthy foods. There is no reason to purchase excessive amounts of food for your pet at this time.

We are also monitoring any potential courier disruptions that could affect our ability to deliver frozen food orders safely to homes*. Because of increased logistics disruption risks beyond our control, we ask that you please take this opportunity to explore the additional options we have made available to receive Tom&Sawyer meals:
